If you wish to sponsor a child, please call us at (805) 938-5882 or email us at childsponsorship@tmihope.org. In your email please include your name, contact information, the name of the child you wish to sponsor and any questions you may have. Once we receive your email we will contact you with more details regarding our child sponsorship program. The children on the waiting list identified as a "Hope House Child" live in our orphanage or are in need of moving into the orphanage and need a sponsor. Learn more about TMI Hope House for Children.

When reading through the children's bios, please notice the date that is listed for how long the children have been waiting for sponsors. Many children wait for over a year and soon lose hope that they will ever be sponsored. They sometimes are forced to drop out of school and find a job at a very young age in order to support their families. Please consider the children who have been waiting the longest when choosing your child.

Can't afford to sponsor a child by yourself? Sponsor a child with a group of people, perhaps a Bible study group, Sunday school class, church congregation, at your workplace or with an organization. What a loving way to transform a child's life!

Zhang, Qingshuo DOB 02/25/2001 HOPE HOUSE CHILD
Needs Co-Sponsor

In 2004, Zhang, Qingshuo’s father was killed in an accident. His mother remarried and left him with his elderly grandparents who found it difficult to financially care for him. The grandparents only source of income is a small retirement that his grandfather receives.

Qingshuo was originally sponsored as an Outreach child, but due to his dire situation he has since been moved to our orphanage, Hope House for Children. His original sponsor is unable to afford the $90.00/month fee to sponsor an orphan. They however do not want to give up his sponsorship. We are looking for someone to co-sponsor with them at $45.00/month. Both sponsors will receive letters, photos, updates etc. Sponsor him today and along with your co-sponsor you both can establish a relationship with him that can provide lots of love and encouragement!

Yu, Guangyi DOB 04/26/2000 Waiting Since 5/10 HOPE HOUSE CHILD

Our staff was called out to check on a boy whose father had just committed suicide a month earlier and whose mother is mentally ill and disappears for weeks or months at time. What they found was a frightened 10 year old boy who had been left to fend for himself. His uncles who lived down the road would sometimes care for him and let Guangyi stay with them, but they were financially unable to provide for him. Our staff took him to our orphanage that same day. Guangyi now has a safe and warm place to call home. He is being loved on by our caring staff and now has a huge family that he can count on. He won’t be going hungry, he has new clothing, a warm bed and will be able to attend school. When asked what the best thing about Hope House was he replied, “ I can now sleep.” No more scary nights being left alone in a house in the country!

You can become his sponsor and develop a relationship through cards and letters and be able to give him lots of love and encouragement. Sponsorship will help to defray the cost of caring for Guangyi at Hope House.

Guan, Xin DOB 03/30/1997
Needs Co-Sponsor

Guan, Xin is 13 years old. He has been a sponsored child since 2009. Just recently his sponsor asked if we could search for a co-sponsor to share the expense of sponsorship. The cost to co-sponsor is $20.00/month or $240.00/year. Each sponsor will receive letters, photos, updates etc. In these tough economical times co-sponsorship is a way to bless a child, yet stay within your own budget constraints.

A little bit about Xin: When he was first sponsored both of his parents were unemployed. His mother suffers from a heart condition and needs daily medication. His father was suffering from psoitis and was unable to do any heavy lifting. The family was and still is living with Xin's grandparents. They suffered from extreme poverty and needed help. Sponsorship brought this entire family hope. In Xin's letters to his sponsor he speaks about how grateful he is for all the help that his sponsor has provided to both himself and his family. Xin says that his life has changed a lot and that his family no longer worries about not being able to afford to send him to school, or how they are going to get through each day. He says that he wants to do his best so that he can "learn many useful skills and wants to help others who are having difficult times." Today, both parents are employed and the Xin and his family find daily life a bit easier. See what just a litte bit of hope can provide?

Xin and his family still need help and now his current sponsor needs some help too. Co-sponsor him today and watch how sponsorship will continue to transform his life!

Wang, Desheng DOB 01/13/1989 Waiting Since 01/10
Needs New Sponsor

Wang, Desheng had been sponsored since he was 10 years old. Recently his sponsor wrote to tell us that they would not be able to continue his sponsorship. We are in search of a new sponsor for him. As a child, his parents divorced and his mother abandoned him. He lived with his father and grandparents for a few years. They were very poor and sponsorship helped him immensely. His parents reunited for a short time, but are now divorced. His mother is a housekeeper and his father can sometimes find temporary work. In his last year of high school, Desheng was suffering from cerebral anemia which caused him to be very ill and he did not do well in school. He took the university entrance exam and scored very low, so he decided to remain in high school another year and take the exam again.

In early 2009, Wang, Desheng took the university entrance exam and passed. He has been attending university since the fall of 2009. He is a fashion design major and is doing well. With sponsorship, you can help Desheng realize his dream of graduating from university and becoming a clothing designer. Sponsorship at the university level provides living expense money for the student. Just like college students in the US, Chinese students obtain loans and part time jobs to pay for university. Can you sponsor him today and lighten his financial burden while he studies for his future?

Liu, Yu DOB 03/16/1990 Waiting Since 01/10
Needs New Sponsor

Liu, Yu has been a sponsored child since she was 10. Her sponsors have recently contacted us to say that they are no longer able to sponsor her. Yu has a unique academic story. She had graduated from high school and passed the university entrance exam. However, her score on the exam was not very high so she was restricted as to what universities she could attend. She began her university studies and then decided that she would rather take her final of year of high school over again. This would enable her to acquire more knowledge and skills. She is hoping that by doing this, she will score higher on the university entrance exam and allow her to be accepted at a “better” university. Talk about perseverance!
