If you wish to sponsor a child, please call us at (805) 938-5882 or email us at childsponsorship@tmihope.org. In your email please include your name, contact information, the name of the child you wish to sponsor and any questions you may have. Once we receive your email we will contact you with more details regarding our child sponsorship program. The children on the waiting list identified as a "Hope House Child" live in our orphanage or are in need of moving into the orphanage and need a sponsor. Learn more about TMI Hope House for Children.
When reading through the children's bios, please notice the date that is listed for how long the children have been waiting for sponsors. Many children wait for over a year and soon lose hope that they will ever be sponsored. They sometimes are forced to drop out of school and find a job at a very young age in order to support their families. Please consider the children who have been waiting the longest when choosing your child.
Can't afford to sponsor a child by yourself? Sponsor a child with a group of people, perhaps a Bible study group, Sunday school class, church congregation, at your workplace or with an organization. What a loving way to transform a child's life! |

Yang, Lan DOB 03/02/2001 HOPE HOUSE CHILD
Needs Co-Sponsor
Lan had been a sponsored child in our Outreach Program. She lived with her mother and grandparents. Her mother is mentally ill and was determined that she was no longer able to care for her. Lan's elderly grandparents are farmers and do not earn enough money to support her. It was decided in early 2011 that Lan should be moved to our orphanage.
Lan is doing well and is very happy to be living at Hope House. Lan's original sponsors are unable to afford the full fee to sponsor a Hope House child so we are looking for a co-sponsor. The co-sponsor fee for a Hope House child is $45.00/month. Both sponsors will receive letters, photos, updates etc. Sponsor her today and along with your co-sponsor you both can establish a relationship with Lan that can provide lots of love and encouragement! |
New Sponsors Needed! |
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
We currently have four children (listed below) who are in need of new sponsors. When a sponsor drops from the program, Threshold continues to help the child, but at the expense of the ministry. This becomes a financial burden to the ministry. By choosing a child that is listed as needing a new sponsor you will bless the ministry greatly. Click through to page two and three and you will see the children who have never been sponsored.
Many of the children who are waiting for their first sponsor have waited for a longtime. Through our Gifts of Hope Care for a Waiting Child Fund you can help provide items for these children while they wait. This is a great way to help if you are unable to commit to sponsoring a child or if you have been led to make a donation to our ministry. |

Li, Wei DOB 12/18/1996
Needs New Sponsor
Excerpt from Original Bio:
In 2001, Li Wei's father died. His mother grows vegetables and sells them at the market to earn income. Li Wei has an older sister. It is very difficult for his mother to care for him and his sister on the small income that she earns.
Li Wei is now in his first year of high school. In China you must pass an entrance exam for high school. If you do not do well you can still attend school, but a high fee has to be paid. Li Wei did not get a high enough score to attend high school. His mother borrowed the $1300.00 fee so that he could begin school. This family is still poor, so borrowing the money is a great burden for his mother. His older sister is now married and lives in another city. Wei and his mother live in a rented house. His mother can sometimes find temporary work.
Sponsorship brings about stability to Li Wei and his mother. Li Wei is doing average in school. He earns grades that put him in the middle standing in his grade level. Be his new sponsor and through cards and letters you can encourage him to do well in school and support him with your love. |

Song Yue was sponsored for 7 years, but recently her sponsor contacted us to say that they were no longer able to provide support. Song, Yue is in her last year of high school. She struggles with academics but tries her best. In 2007 her mother remarried and Song, Yue went to live with her mother and stepfather. Her stepfather treats her well. He works at the nearby forestry site and her mother can sometimes find temporary employment.
Sponsor her today and give her the encouragement to finish high school and to possibly further her education at a technical school or trade school. She has come so far and deserves the chance to free herself from a life of poverty. |
Special Needs/
Medical Sponsorship Program |
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
We have a list of children needing help through our Special Needs/Medical Sponsorship Program. Unfortunately, the Chinese government does not provide the kind of care and help that children with special needs receive in our country. These children are very rarely allowed to attend school. Parents must stay home and care for the child each and every day with no respite. In China, both parents usually must work in order to earn enough money for the family. When one has a special needs child this is not possible. These families are very poor because a large portion of their income is used to pay medical costs for their children.
We pray that you will be led to sponsor one of these children listed below. You will be provided updates on the progress of your child. Some children may be able to send artwork and even a letter, it all depends on their physical and mental condition. Please know that deep in your heart you are helping the truly helpless. After all, isn't that what our Lord wants us to do?
